A welcome wake up call

After our abject failure to see Yndi Halda at KoKo in Camden, Adam and I did finally have some success. We managed to persuade Billy we would be suitable guests at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) in Farringdon.

To make up for paying £4.20 for a crappy tin of cider, I went straight in for this new entry – a welcome wake up call. The SMWS is a special place – not just single malt, but single cask single malt. This makes each one unique and a little bit different.

They also don’t tell you which distillery the dram is from (unless you ask nicely or look it up on the internet). Some sneaky googling reveals this is from Linkwood, Elgin.

Just what was required on a dark, rainy night.

Spotted in the Pembury Tavern, Hackney. It was the barmaids! She seemed slightly freaked out that I was taking a photograph…
